DVD is sold as "Space Force: Battlefront" while it is listed on IMDB as "Deep Space." It appears to be the prequel or pilot for the TV series "Deep Six." A warp machine called a "Terminal" allows deep space travel, although it still takes 30 days to traverse the system and only one item can travel through it at a time.
The film opens with a teaser as Athea (Michelle Morgan) crashes on the desert planet Airmid. We then start the movie and it takes 48 minutes to get back to this point. There is an issue with the Terminal that must be fixed in 25 days, or they all die. There is also a scene that reports that there is mass extinction because the use of the Terminal raised the temperature of a planet (Note global warming angle.) And there are aliens that have an issue with our presence destroying their planets' ecosystems. Wouldn't you know it? People don't mind making their own planet uninhabitable, but if some alien does it...
The film featured relationships and drama as if it was going to be going on for the long run. It ends like a serial, letting you know the best feature is yet to come.
