FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER: A STEAMPUNK ADAPTATION is an attempt to re-tell Mary Shelley's novel on an indie budget with an amateur cast. The quality is about what you'd expect from your local amateur dramatics society, and the best thing I can say about this film is that the trappings are decent. They've gone out of their way to get hold of authentic costumes and props here, and the locations chosen for filming are pretty nice and give the whole thing an appropriate 19th century look. A shame, then, that everything involving acting is very poor, and pretty much any professional adaptation of the novel easily outdoes the efforts here.
