One has to wonder what the writer director was trying to say in this anime. The basic story line was semi-interesting (although not unique). The characters were reasonably developed, but the loose plot and especially senseless ending makes this largely a waste of time. The gore in the film doesn't fit in with the overall emotion and in truth takes away from the theme. The primary bonus is that it's not two hours long, which at least wastes less of the viewer's time. To discuss the problems of the film would require numerous spoilers, so it's best to just state that this had great potential, all of which was wasted on a lame and pointless script.
