The alien criminal from the first movie is dead, but he left a few eggs which are hatching now. The good alien, who still inhabits Tom Beck's body, has been waiting just in case this happened. Unfortunately, his presence in the body has taken a terrible toll on it, draining it of life energy. Additionally relations with Beck's daughter Juliet (now a cop) have deteriorated. But when the killing starts again, they will need to work together to stop the new generation of aliens.

Coming 7 years after the original film, this sequel has the grown up daughter of detective TOM BECK (MICHAEL NOURI, who makes a cameo here) teaming up with another good guy alien who has inhabited another human, that in his words "was not alive, yet not dead either" to track down another murderous alien, which is the offspring of the original slasher alien from the first, after it kills the original good guy alien who inhabited the body of the human detective who died at the end of 1, but unfortunately, this bad guy alien was in no hurry to get up & start killing, since after it tears through a dog that it inhabited, lies dormant for 15 years in an old abandon factory.
The first 15 minutes of the film is really just a recap ending of Part 1 which was set in 1987, from there after, the film opens up in 2002 where pretty much the same murders occur, with the alien jumping from body to body & murdering, stealing, driving fast/hot cars & listening to heavy metal music, leaving a pile of corpses & it's own used up bodies in it's wake, thus frustrating a baffled police force, can the good alien Machlachlan & Beck's daughter stop this thing or will they to wind up on the Aliens list of victims? Despite the fact that it lacked the heavy metal tunes & some of the action of the first (Not to mention the acting was not as good this time out) HIDDEN 2 succeeds on strictly B movie level, there's still lots of neat special effects & plenty to watch throughout the films running time & the direction was surprisingly good.
I've heard mostly negative reviews from fans & critics on this film, but it's not as bad as they make it sound, I honestly think that both critics & most fans of the first were expecting far to much of the film before viewing it & when it didn't meet there expectations by the time the film was finished, they kind of disowned it, but really it's not that bad, it's worth a look, just keep in mind that it's lower budgeted so you won't be expecting it to be even more action packed & as wild as the original & you just may enjoy it.
