When i first saw the trailer, I just wanted to watch it since i though it looked like a a bad b movie. However, after watching it I really enjoyed it. The premise is nothing new, death row inmates playing a death game for a pardon, but done right. Unless i missed something no one was framed and it was a voluntary even for the main guy. He was innocent, but found guilt in a trail, and asked if he wanted to join this years cast of the games. Another great thing is the game wasn't rigged so that everyone would loose or fail. This is importation, because what other movies fail when they do this is why would anyone play if no one ever wins.
What i thought was great is except for the main guy everyone was guilty of horrible crimes. There is a protest group of course that is against them and in the end tried to end the game by killing everyone on camera. of course failing to end the game. Personally i though the movie misses a great opportunity by not ending the movie showing these people from the protest group as the next stars of the new games.
I thought most of the characters were pretty good and fun to watch. At first i thought they would try and hammer home the morality of games like this to one side, but didn't, which is great. The whole family ended up enjoying this movie, and for a B movie, i thought they did a lot better with the story and details that most of the major movies are being sloppy with.
