Former bank robber Candy (Played by MELINDA CLARK) is waiting for her partner in crime (played by JASON DURR) to be released from prison, however a meteor lands on earth & a fragment of it gets into Candy's soup, causing an alien life form to breed inside her tongue & become guess what...? anyways Candy is none to thrilled about her extremely long, wise cracking killer tongue & even takes a hot iron to it in one scene, soon Candy begins to embrace the idea of having a killer mouth organ & uses it against anyone that sets her off, while being equipped with a skin tight latex suit, while a prison warden played by ROBERT (FREDDY KRUGER) ENGLUND abuses her boyfriend & his friend, a fellow inmate played by DOUG BRADLEY (PINHEAD of HELLRAISER fame) both of whom are saddled with really bad toupees & dialogue. Meanwhile Candy's pets have also eaten some of the soup & have turned into human drag queens! a nun leaves the convent & goes on the run & touches the large meteor & gains the powers to heal anyone, while at the same time walking around in her undies. I'm sorry are you confused? Well join the club!!! KILLER TONGUE doesn't make a lick of sense (no pun intended) it looks like it was shot on one of those RCA camcorders & then dumped in the mud. The performances & direction are the worst ever to grace the history of film & the film hasn't got a single laugh ruining through out, nothing scary, in fact it's not even really about the killer tongue! it's just a bunch of weirdo's running around in four seemingly disconnected stories. The tongue monster on the box art doesn't even show up in the film, it has no teeth or eyes, it's just an over long tongue with antenna thingies & a slit for a mouth that you can barely see, both MELINDA CLARKE, ROBERT ENGLUND & DOUG BRADLEY must have been going through some really tough times to lend their talent to this piece of crap! MELINDA CLARKE who's a great actress & has starred in one of my favourite zombie films, THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD 3, should be given some credit here, for being able to keep a straight face, as the wise cracking tongue slimes it way out of her mouth, without bursting out laughing on camera. There is some gore effects on hand, but nothing spectacular, considering the plot & genre. MELINDA who obviously was still kicking herself for turning down the wonderful SCREAM, obviously tried to make up for the mistake by starring in the okay, but mainly mediocre SPAWN & this film, hoping one would take off & help her career (which she probably is now kicking herself for getting involved with it!), sorry but no luck here girl! Look for the end credits as well, they mis-spelled DOUG BRADLEY'S name calling him DOUGH BRADLEY! Avoid this film at all costs, unless you love films like PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE & MANOS THE HANDS OF FATE, if so enjoy.
