It's the year 2025, and woman are now in political and economic control of the world, with men reduced to menial labor or clerical work. Guy works in plastic fabrication; his career isn't going well and he's just been dumped by his girlfriend, who grew tired of trying to turn him into her ideal man. Since sad and lonely guys are a dime a dozen, several firms manufacture humanoid robots that can be programmed to obey any instructions, and Guy decides a robot might work out better for him than a human being. Guy customizes his humanoid to look like Mary, a woman he wooed in Paris without success. On the surface, "Mary" would seem to be Guy's idea of the perfect woman -- she's beautiful, she cooks and cleans without complaint, she doesn't mind watching sports, and she's willing to have sex as often as Guy would like. However, Guy soon finds himself falling in love with the humanoid -- and Mary, being made out of plastic, is not capable of returning his affection.

I had the pleasure of seeing this movie at the Big Bear International Film Festival, and I must say that it was by far the best feature film that I saw during the entire festival! Ryan Hurst is truly becoming one of Hollywood's finest young actors, and it was prominently displayed in this film. Daniela Lunkewitz has star written all over her, and I feel that she will become a huge star within in the years to come. The film has a wonderful cast (although it lacks supporting stars), and the precision of the writing kept me interested and laughing throughout the entire film.

I have never seen the subject of feminism dealt with in such a creative way, and this is coming from a man! I'm not quite sure if this film has distribution, or if it can be seen in theater's or rented on video, but if you have the chance to check it out, I certainly recommend it to any adult audience.
